Operation ABLE’s Computer Skills & Job Search Refresher Classes and Intro Workshops offer individual courses in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

These Refresher Classes and Intro Workshops are available to eligible participants and some SNAP recipients who already have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications but may need or want to brush up on their existing skills.

Introduction to MICROSOFT EXCEL for BEGINNERS

2-Day Workshop from, 1 PM - 3 PM, 2-Hours Each Day

This live, instructor-led workshop offered via Zoom is designed for individuals who have little to no prior experience with Microsoft Excel. You will learn the fundamentals of this powerful spreadsheet software, providing you with a solid foundation on which you can build your Excel expertise. Whether you've never touched Excel before or have only dabbled with its basic features, this introductory course will put you on a path to becoming a confident user.

Microsoft Excel UpSkill/ReSkill with Operation ABLE

What You'll Learn:

  • WHAT Excel is, WHY & WHAT you can use it for
  • How to open Excel to work on your spreadsheet
  • The Excel screen layout, including Ribbon, Columns, Cells, Rows
  • Navigating Excel – Excel Cursors and Pointer

  • Excel’s basic formulas
  • Saving and printing your work

Our Introduction to Excel Class for Beginners is available to most low-income residents and SNAP recipients in Boston and in other MA locations who need or want to brush up on their existing skills. No prequalifying skills assessments are required, but you will need access to the Internet to participate in the program.

Please note that Computer Skills Refresher Classes are for intermediate-level users. Participants will be required to take a skills assessment to determine appropriate class-level placement. Operation ABLE is an authorized NorthStar Digital Literacy Assessment Site.

Introductory Workshops are for Beginners so assessment requirements DO NOT apply.
